The Illusion of Corporate Support for Workers

Many companies claim to support their employees, but in many cases, it’s just a matter of public relations. If you have a mental illness and request accommodations, you may encounter sympathetic faces at first, but few real actions, and eventually, the outcome is often dismissal. Mental health remains a sensitive topic in the workplace, something tolerated as long as it doesn’t impact productivity.

Few companies truly care about their employees beyond the minimum requirements. The current system prioritizes profit over well-being, and changing that means transforming how we view work. Moving from an exploitative system to a more social one isn’t easy, but it’s a conversation that needs to continue.
