Sometimes we are fine and we barely notice it because the mind switches into alert mode. It brings back memories of moments that went wrong or suggests that the good moment will soon end. That inner noise cuts through the real experience of the present and pushes us into a state of vigilance we do not need. It is not protection, it is a reflection of past experiences that no longer match what we are living now.
If we do not stop these thoughts from the start, they end up contaminating what could be a calm moment. We need to recognise that they are learned intrusions, not reality. Setting them aside allows us to stay in the present without the pressure that distorts what is already fine. Enjoying is not a luxury, it is a conscious act when the mind tries to pull us somewhere else.
