What You Look At Is What You See

The way we choose to see the world creates the world we end up seeing. It is not a nice phrase, it is something you notice in how we react to what happens to us. Two people live the same event and one remembers it as a disaster while the other sees it as a necessary step. Not because the event changes but because the angle changes. The way we look at things is not a detail. It is the filter that decides what stays and what disappears along the way.

Choosing how to look at things is not denying reality. It is deciding what weight you give to each part of it. You can focus on what limits you or on what allows you to move forward. You can get stuck on what is missing or acknowledge what is already there. This choice does not fix everything but it defines the ground you walk on. And when that ground changes your whole experience shifts. Because what you look at becomes what fills your world.
