Perception vs. Perspective

We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are. Our senses may gather information, but our personality, experiences, and biases shape how we interpret that information. This natural distortion often leads us to misunderstand situations, making it important to step back and examine things from a broader perspective. By doing so, we remove the lens of personal bias and come closer to understanding things as they truly are, not how we want or expect them to be.

Taking the time to view situations from different angles is crucial. Listening to opposing viewpoints and considering alternative perspectives allows us to broaden our understanding. This approach doesn’t just improve our problem-solving skills, but it also helps us navigate the complexity of human relationships. When we try to see things from others’ perspectives, we gain clearer insights and, ultimately, make better decisions.
