The Reality of Emigrating Doesn’t Show on Instagram

Few people talk about what emigrating really means. On social media, everything looks perfect, but reality is different. Immigrants end up in the jobs no one wants: cleaning, construction, hospitality. They arrive with education, with dreams, but without a support network, their degree means nothing. If you’re lucky, you might become a waiter.

Comfortable office jobs, sitting in front of a computer, are for locals. Without connections, without perfect language skills, and without recognition of your experience, options are limited. Adapting takes years, and many end up accepting any job just to survive. The life of an immigrant is tough, but that doesn’t get posted on Instagram.
